Driving By . . . Part 1~
Although the COVID-19 pandemic keeps our loyal volunteers and visitors from Collins House tours, we thought you would enjoy a brief drive-by tour.
Broom corn towers above the bright sunflowers along the rustic fence.
The D.D. Collins House Three Sisters of the garden.
Our version of the garden term, "Three Sisters" ~ corn, beans, and squash is broom corn, sunflowers, and pumpkins. A centuries old tradition because these three crops not only complement each other in the garden, but also as a nutritional powerhouse (except broom corn, of course).
Our rustic fence makes our garden a perfect 1840's scene.
